The Arts & Crafts movement + yoga philosophy = Inside The Bungalow The Arts & Crafts movement (late1800's) originated as a need to return to authentic living and a rebellion to cheaply made mass produced ornate Victorian furniture. Artisans looked for inspiration in nature and locally when designing objects, building homes, etc. Formality was exchanged for functionality. Quality became more valued than quantity. At the heart of this movement was the need to find joy in work, live simply, stay connected to nature and maintain integrity. Yoga philosophy (dating back 5000 years) is based on the art of relationships. Yoga literally means "to yoke" or "unite". Yoga teaches us that we are all interconnected. With so much of our attention pulled outside of us on a daily basis, we forget this core connection. Yoga allows us to embrace each moment with a sense of awe by letting go of habitual conditioning. As a result we achieve a richer more authentic connection with ourself and are more capable of sharing our gifts with others. Inside The Bungalow grew out of these two philosophies. Both the yoga studio and cafe are housed in craftsman bungalow style homes. Architectural details, original hardwood floors, fireplaces and French doors are just a few of the qualities that create a unique and comforting setting. Offering quality products & services and having fun is what we do best. We are committed to enriching the lives of our guests and treating each customer as a guest in our home. Our concept is simple. Enjoy the beauty of everyday living. Discover yourself through a yoga class, take time out of your hectic day to savor a delicious cup of coffee, or celebrate a milestone with loved ones by hosting a special event. Along the way, help others and save the planet. |
