Carrie Hensley’s own personal life experiences led her on a lifelong quest for healing, self-discovery and truth. Her first mentor gave her the book “Living, Loving, and Learning,” by Leo Buscaglia at age 15. Carrie’s love for psychology, in particular Cognitive Therapy, grew from this experience and has become an integral component to her core teachings. Carrie began teaching yoga in 1998. At that time, she was also trained in Vipassana meditation. Over the years, Carrie has had training in various yoga traditions, including Ashtanga, Healthy Backs, Anusara, and Forrest Yoga. In 2003, Carrie added Reiki (laying of hands) as an additional healing modality to help students remove blocked energy physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Through her own personal journey of healing, Carrie has become a genuine example of the resiliency of spirit. Her core teachings integrate yoga postures (asanas), breath awareness (pranayama), Vipassana meditation, self-discovery, and humor guiding students deeper into their own journey of healing, intention, authenticity, and empowerment.
In 2005 Carrie co-opened Inside The Bungalow yoga studio and cafe with the intention of providing a safe place for students to begin their own journey of healing, self-discovery, and truth. She is honored to be sharing this journey with business partner and mom, Betty. Carrie currently lives in Mesa, Arizona with her husband Chris and their son, Drew.
